Board Meeting this Sunday.
December 4th, 2008
The board will be meeting December 7th at the club. The meeting is open to all members. (If only our nation’s banks had practiced such transparency.)
If you review the minutes from the last meeting, you’ll realize this is your chance to hear about recent activities at the club and learn about issues that have been tackled, some decidedly more exciting than others. These include:
- Rod Black’s efforts to resolve the water supply blockage in one toilet of the Ladies Room. Let’s put this in the Not-So-Exciting category.
- Possible updates from John Wilman on the fluctuating water pressure. Level of excitement? See previous.
- Bill Nickle’s visit to Canada Curling Stone in London, Ontario, and any plans for “re-texturing” our rocks. Believe it or not, I rank this one as Very Exciting.
- Neil Sullivan might give an update on the club finances. I have had just about all the exciting economic news I can handle recently so let’s hope this is about as dramatic as Rod’s water closet work.
All kidding aside, attending board meetings offers members a chance to hear about the direction of the club and learn more about what it takes for the place to operate smoothly. You’ll also realize just how much time and effort many people put in to ensure that there is a place to curl in New Jersey.
