We want you!
Now in its 5th year, our curling
program provides the teen and pre-teen curler with an environment of learning,
game playing, and fun. New curlers
start off with off-ice and on-ice instruction adapted to their specific needs,
and, as the curler progresses, skills tutoring and drills are added in order to
hone their skills. Most 3-hour sessions entail a blend of instruction/drill and game
play, with a snack break in between. We offertwo
sessions – Beginner (Level 1) and Intermediate/Advanced (Level 2).
Curlers can earn uniform patches as they advance in skills (USCA Junior Merit
Program).Curlers can choose to attend just weekly sessions, or choose to also
curl in weekend competitions (Bonspiel) or in one
-day ‘Friendlies’ in places
such as:
Locally: 1 day Friendlies (Plainfield & Potomac,
Maryland) Weekend Bonspiels (Plainfield & Philadelphia, PA)
Regionally: Weekend Bonspiels (Schenectady, NY; Utica, NY;
Nashua, NH; Cape Cod, MA) Regional Playdowns (to secure National berth;
location changes annually) Sessions Occurrences
(October-Late March):
Level 1: 9-12, Saturdays
Level 2: 12-3, Saturdays *Note that advanced skilled curlers, with permission, may sub in
adult leagues on weekday/weekend evenings in order to enhance
skills/competitiveness. Cost: $35 per curler plus $5 snack
fee for season
*Curling shoes and
personal brooms not required.
*Uniforms are optional (cost: apr. $45) Ages
: 12-20 (Note that in curling, age does not determine ability).
