October 10th, 2011 Comments off

Our season gets underway with the first league game on Wednesday, Oct 12, and the first bonspiel (the Pursuit of Happiness) the following weekend. While our leagues are almost full, there are still some opportunites for those who may wish to join the club. Contact Membership for information on what openings there are, and onto a waiting list if none match your availability.

We had a successful run of pre-season Curling Experiences, and are now looking forward. There are not any sessions currently scheduled, but we are looking at the calendar and maintaining a contact list. Visit The Curling Experience page to get more information as it becomes available.

As always, we will be running group outings throughout the season during the day on weekdays. The Outings tab above will get you more information.

The Curling Experience – Your Opportunity To Try Curling!

September 9th, 2010 Comments off

We’re pleased to announce a new program for the public that we will be running this year: “The Curling Experience

This is your chance as a non-member to get to try curling with no further obligations!

The Curling Experience is a two-hour program of curling instruction and game play. Each session is strictly limited to 16 participants, and will only be held if we fill up the session.

As a participant, you will be given a brief talk on safety, equipment and terminology, and teamed up with 3 other participants. Each team will have its own instructor to teach you how to deliver the stone, and how and why to sweep. After a bit of practice, you will get to compete in a short game of curling and have the opportunity to play each position! You are then invited to spend some time in our warm room to socialize with everyone at the session.

The fee for The Curling Experience is $25 per person. All you need to bring are a pair of clean sneakers, warm clothing, and enthusiasm! We provide all necessary equipment. This program is recommended for ages 12 & up.

UPDATE Oct. 5: Thanks to everyone who attended and helped out at our Curling Experience sessions! We hope to be able to offer a few more Curling Experience sessions in the coming months. Please watch our site for announcements!
