Group Outings at the Plainfield Curling Club

The Plainfield Curling Club welcomes your interest in the sport of curling. We would be pleased to host your next group outing. Our club is a dedicated, two-sheet curling ice facility with a well appointed warm-room for socializing before and after your event.

Curling can be a truly rewarding experience for your corporate or social group. Bringing your group out of their comfort zone” into an unfamiliar environment stimulates creativity, communication, and teamwork.

The sport of curling blends the athletic skills of balance, strength, flexibility, and precision with the thought-provoking strategy of a chess game. There will be something for every member of your group in this experience.

Exercise and risk-taking help your team members develop self-confidence. With training and encouragement from our instructors, teams develop spirit through the accomplishments of individuals in a team framework.

Trusting one’s teammates is as essential to the game of curling as it is within your group. Learning to cooperate and contend as a team teaches participants to appreciate the contributions of others.

Communication is essential in curling, as the strategy changes throughout the game.Your group will sharpen its interpersonal skills as it competes on the ice and socializes after the game. Curling provides an opportunity to “break the ice” in a fun, non-threatening, supportive activity that will provide each participant with a new-found sense of achievement.

The club will provide curling instructors and all the necessary equipment for participation.  Instructors will provide information about the sport of curling as well as on and off ice instruction.

After your ice session, enjoy the hospitality of our warm room as you savor your curling experience.

The club has a full schedule of member leagues and bonspiels (tournaments).  Preference for club usage is given to member events.

The facility is available on a limited basis for group outings. Curling ice is available from October until April. Outings are typically scheduled on weekdays before 5 pm and occasionally on weekends. Bookings for groups of up to sixteen on-ice participants can be accommodated.

A minimum fee of $500 is requested for a three hour reservation of the facility. Fees are based on the size of your party and the duration of your event and will be discussed with your event planner at the time of booking.
