It's that time of year again!
Curling is starting and it's time to
start thinking about the MACA! For those of you who don't know what
the
MACA is all about, here is some information:
MACA Events
Who:
The
Mid-Atlantic Curling Association (MACA) holds a friendly,
participation-based competition each year among each MACA club:
Chesapeake, Philadelphia, Plainfield and Potomac.
How and
What:
¬ Two 6-end games played during 1 day at each of the four
clubs.
¬ Positions rotate every second end so players have a chance to curl
in
each position each game.
¬ Teams are pulled the day of event so
curlers play with people from
other clubs.
¬ Points are awarded to the
clubs on the basis of the number of curlers
participating from each club and
with the results of each of the games.
¬ The winner is chosen after all four
events are played and is
determined by summing each club's points for the
four events.
¬ This means the higher our attendance, the better our odds!
Come on,
LET’S
CURL!!!!
Cost: $15 for each event date (includes the two
games, breakfast and
lunch) You don't even need to pay in advance -- the fee
is due to the
hosting club when you arrive.
When: Before each
event there will be a sign-up sheet to the right of
the ice door. Sign up
and check if you would like to car pool and/or
join us for dinner after the
MACA is over. We meet & leave from the club
early morning on game
day!
