2014 Open House Information & Sign-Up
The Plainfield Curling Club is pleased to announce it will hold two (2) open house events in conjunction with the 2014 Sochi Olympics. The dates are Saturday, February 22nd & Sunday, February 23rd, 2014, for anyone interested in trying curling and learning more about our club!
Here’s your chance to get an introduction to the Olympic sport of curling at the only curling club in the state of New Jersey.
Please select the day and time you would like to attend. We are limiting the open houses to reservations only so we can provide the best experience for all those attending.
The cost for the open house is a donation of $10.00 per person [cash at the door]. We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time slot to complete the registration process. Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
You’ll be able to get out on the ice and deliver stones after a brief instruction. Club members will be on hand to show you our facility and answer any questions you may have before and after your introductory curling lesson. We will also have curling related items for sale.
If you’d like to continue to learn more about curling or the Plainfield Curling Club after the open house, please join our Learn-To-Curl program. The Learn-To-Curl Program is three (3) sessions that is designed to teach the basics of delivery, sweeping, game play and etiquette. A payment of $40.00 will guarantee you a spot in the Learn-To-Curl Program. If you then decide to become a member of the club, the fee will be applied to your dues.
What To Wear
Please wear warm, layered, loose-fitting clothes such as sweats. Also, please bring a pair of clean sneakers with you, separate from what you wear to the club. It’s important to keep our ice clean!
We’re located just off Exit 4 on Route 287. Our address is 133 McKinley St. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
