New York Times blogger Deb Amlen recently accepted our invitation to spend two hours learning the basics of curling and running up and down our ice as friendly payback for poking a little fun at the sport in an earlier column. But now she’s changed her mind! In her follow-up story, Swept Away: My Day on the Hog Line, she writes, “I had more fun than I’ve had in a long time and I can tell you this: Curling rocks. Curling is gangsta.”
We’re please to announce that entries to our 2012 P.C.C. Stone Men’s Bonspiel are now being accepted! This bonspiel will be held March 1st through 4th, 2012.
Our goal is to have an equal number of Plainfield teams and outside teams. Entries are accepted in the order they are received, though entries are not complete until payment and full team roster are provided. Please submit your entry today!
The Bucket is also the name of the annual mixed friendly bonspiel we play against our Ardsley Curling Club neighbors to see where its trophy is displayed for the next year.
A big “Thank You” to Nicole Husch for championing this effort for the PCC and to the 25 of our members who brought their “A” game to Ardsley on Sunday, December 11 to secure a decisive victory for Plainfield!
